Montgomery County Family YMCA Selected as the Facility of the Year
Award for 2007

Jackson of Red Oak Iowa and who serve as board of directors members of the Iowa
Tennis Association, announced that the Montgomery County Family YMCA (Red Oak,
Iowa) was selected as the Facility of the Year Award for 2007 from the Iowa Tennis Association
(ITA). The YMCA Carder Indoor Tennis Center was nominated and won the
award based upon the outstanding tennis programs taking place within the
center:
* Four indoor courts with enclosed viewing area
* Official Tennis Welcome Center and sponsor of free tennis lessons in May of
each year
* Hosts indoor sanctioned tournaments for adults & juniors
* Hosts collegiate matches for Simpson & Hastings Colleges as well as
exhibition events for other colleges
* Hosted a version of "Cardio Tennis" in cooperation with
"Lighten Up Iowa" in spring, 2007
* Serves as a back up for outdoor events for high school matches, conference
and district meets, sanctioned outdoor tournament, Red Oak Tennis Association
(ROTA) outdoor leagues and the ROTA summer tennis program which includes NJTL
* Offers leagues from September to May each year and tennis lessons year round
* Offers half-price court time to junior players year round.
The ITA did honor the Montgomery County Family YMCA and the other 2007
award winners including Dan Martinez of Red Oak, Iowa for being selected the
2007 Outstanding High School Tennis Coach of the Year at their Semi-Annual
Meeting at the Amana Colonies that was held on February 10, 2008.
Area Tennis players of all ages and abilities are invited and encouraged to

along with the Red Oak Tennis Association programs offered in the summer, by
