Jason comes to Red Oak by way of New England where he cut his teeth as a beat writer for the University of Nebraska women’s basketball team after graduating from the University of Nebraska in 1995. Jason brings a varied and diverse career to the team at the Y from being a sportscaster/editor for Sports 1490 in Omaha to program manager for KBLZ-Omaha and as winner’s circle cameraman at Aksraben racetrack. “I’m very honored and blessed to work for such a great place and in such a great community. We have such a great facility filled with some of the best people you’ll ever meet.” Jason enjoys following the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and the Huskers as well as spending time with his daughter Cassie.
Nick Zimmer

Nick has been a partner of the Y movement since 1986. He began his career in Fremont, NE and has served Y members in TX, MI and IA. Nick has enjoyed watching our YMCA grow from the storefront facility it once was, into a full facility that now offers hundreds of programs annually. Nick especially values the relationships developed at the Y, and people like his wife Nancy who has been a committed YMCA volunteer and former Y Board of Director’s President. “It’s all about relationships and involvement in the community and giving back. Without our staff, members, donors, volunteers, participants and guests, our Y would not be able to reach our goals for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The YMCA can truly bring people together from all walks of life.”
John started as a Y volunteer in youth sports when the Y first opened in 1995 and has transitioned from committee member to employee. John says that the best part of the job is seeing preschool age children mature into responsible young adults. He also gets a kick out of it being called “coach” by past program participants. In his time away from the many separate responsibilities he takes on at the Y, he enjoys his time officiating HS basketball, following his children’s activities and being active with other community groups.

Kristi is originally from California but moved to the Iowa area with her mom while in high school. She enjoys paticipating in various Y programs and activities. In her free time Kristi enjoys reading, sewing, and attending Renaissance Festivals with her husband and children, Tristan and Rowyn.

Terry has been with the Y since 2005. He really enjoys helping people reach their goals in weight loss or any personal needs they may have. Terry enjoys spending time with his wonderful family; wife Kelly and kids Nolan and Sophie. In their spare time, they enjoy watching and helping with sporting events.

Though new to the YMCA, Anne loves the friendly atmosphere and community outreach. She enjoys helping the families of the area to have a safe, healthy and fun place to go. In her spare time, Anne loves to watch her kids play sports, curl up with a great book or tend to her garden.
Todd Gilleland

Todd joined the Y movement in 2002 as a part time maintenance employee. He advanced his career within the Y when he was promoted to Property Manger in 2003. Todd enjoys spending all the time he can with his three wonderful children Alexa, Hunter & Brooklyn.

Missy and her family moved to Red Oak in December of 2010. Her husband is a Service Manager at A7M Greenpower, and they have 4 children. It has been a delight for Missy and her family to join this community, likewise she is very honored to have taken the position of Aquatics Director at the YMCA.
Her goal is to offer a wide variety of Water fitness programs, Lifeguard Training, Swimming lessons, and some exciting, fun family programs as well.
