Membership Admission Policy
Membership at the Montgomery County Family YMCA and admission to its facilities is a privilege, not a right. We reserve the right to deny, suspend or revoke membership of any person in the event that their behavior, wether on or off our premises, is judged by the Board of Directors to either be in conflict with the welfare of the Y patrons or staff, or found to be in violation of the YMCA mission expressed in our promotional material, membership policy and bylaws. The YMCA has an established and written procedure for notice and hearings in advance of suspension or revocation of membership, and a method of appeal of that determination to the YMCA Board of Directors. The YMCA's Chief Executive Officer is responsible for implementation of this policy.
Every day, something's happening at the Y. We bring kids, adults and families closer together, encourage good health and foster connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. Our members enjoy group exercise classes, walking/jogging tracks and
My Y is Every Y in Iowa
As a Montgomery County Family Y member, you have access to YMCA's across Iowa free of charge through the My Y is Every Y program. Y members can access any YMCA in Iowa. Some restrictions may apply. Contact the local Y for their policy.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE IOWA MEMBERSHIP RECIPROCITY PROGRAM?
The program is for full facility/full privilege Y members (those holding adult, household, or senior memberships) whose home Y is located in Iowa.
DOES IT COST EXTRA TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM?
No, all full facility/full privilege members may participate at no additional charge. The reciprocity program is intended to be an added benefit and convenience for members when visiting other communities. You need to maintain a full facility/full privilege membership at the Y you visit most frequently.
HOW OFTEN CAN I USE ONE OF THESE YMCA'S? ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT I CAN DO AT A PARTICULAR YMCA?
There is no limit on the number of visits by reciprocal members. We recommend members check the individual Y's website before visiting. See ymca.net for a complete listing of all Y's.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO VERIFY THAT I AM A CURRENT Y MEMBER?
You must bring your photo ID (i.e. driver's license) in order to utilize another Y. By providing these items the staff at the visiting Y will be able to verify your current Y membership. It is mandatory that you bring a government issued photo ID with you.
